Thank you parent volunteers for February - Emily and Candy

Our first meeting went very well. The girls were so excited. Ms. Nancy and Ms. Brandi reported that they loved wearing their uniforms to school.

Our Goals:
We are going to have so much fun. We will sing songs, play games, and have fun outdoors.
And all along the way, make the world a better place!

Everyone signed the troop poster.

Ms. Brooke explained the Kaper chart.
Everyone was assigned their job for the meeting.

Next, we said the Pledge of Allegiance.

We learned the Girl Scout Promise, the Girl Scout Law,
and the Girl Scout Hand Shake.
"On my honor, I will try: To Serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law."

You keep the Girl Scout Promise by living the Girl Scout Law

Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong,
and responsible for what I say and do,

and to respect myself and others,

respect authority,

use resources wisely,

make the world a better place,
and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

After our snack, we played outside on the playground. Then it was time to do a craft. Daisy's are very crafty!
Our project was bead bracelets.
Each color in the bead represented a petal of the Daisy Flower.

Light Blue - Lupe the Lupine,  "Honest and Fair"
Yellow - Sunny the Sunflower, "Friendly and Helpful"
Light Green - Zinni the Zinnia, "Considerate and Caring"
Red - Tula the Tulip, "Courageous and Strong"
Orange - Mari the Marigold, "Responsible for what I say and do"
Purple - Gloria the Morning Glory, "I respect myself and others"
Magenta - Gerri the Geranium, "Respect Authority"
Green - Clover, "Use resources wisely"
Pink - Rosie the Rose, "Make the world a better place"
Dark Purple - Vi the Violet, "Be a sister to every Girl Scout"

We sang "Make New Friends"
Make new friends, but keep the old; One is silver and the other gold.
A circle is round, it has no end. That's how long I'll be your friend.

Then we did the friendship squeeze, and we said the Girl Scout Promise.
Each girl said what a promise meant to them, and earned the Promise Center.

The Promise is the way Girl Scouts promise to act every day.
It gives us something big and important to do!
That is why it's the very center of the Daisy Flower.

Parents, please attach the Promise Center before our next meeting March 27, 2014.

Thank you for joining Daisy Troop 186!
It's going to be fun!
